Equinor Out coalition partner Sierra Club Canada has launched an exciting podcast series offering a deep dive into a range of climate and environmental issues including interviews with campaigners from locallocal Equinor Out campaigns.

In the latest episode Conor Curtis, Head of Communications at Sierra Club Canada Foundation, speaks to Carlos Franca from the Instituto de Cultura Oceânica about Equinor's projects in Brazil and the company's inadequate approach to oil spill modelling. They also discuss how Brazil is facing climate impacts that will only be made worse by projects like Equinor's Bacalhau and Raia oil and gas fields.

Equinor has been active in Brazil for two decades, and is the second-largest oil producer in the country after state-run Petrobras, according to official records. Equinor wants to expand its oil production in Brazil more than fivefold over the next decade including by opening two huge new offshore projects: Bacalhau and Raia. Together these two projects are estimated to emit approximately 1.2 billion tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere.
